Its distinctive sour and slightly bitter taste has become part of the cuisine and culture of the highlands. Standing among those white-covered trees, it is easy to understand why some people affectionately call them <strong>\u201cthe cherry blossoms of Vietnam\u2019s Northwest mountains.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The flowers are not flamboyant or extravagant. They are small, simple and pure \u2014 <strong>quiet and unpretentious, just like the people of the highlands.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Along the mountain roads from <strong>B\u1eafc Y\u00ean and T\u00e0 X\u00f9a toward Tr\u1ea1m T\u1ea5u<\/strong>, mountain apple trees can often be seen growing beside the road. Around L\u00f9ng C\u00fang, the flowers spread across the valleys, contrasting beautifully with the rugged limestone mountains.<\/p>\n<p>And for motorcycle riders, there is another reason to come here.<\/p>\n<p>At Ph\u00ecnh Ng\u00e0i, the road reaches a junction. Go straight and you continue toward <strong>L\u00f9ng C\u00fang<\/strong>. Turn right and you enter the remote route toward <strong>N\u1eadm Tha Hydropower Plant and V\u0103n B\u00e0n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If your purpose is simply to enjoy the blossoms, the dirt road toward Ph\u00ecnh Ng\u00e0i and L\u00f9ng C\u00fang is relatively manageable in dry weather.<\/p>\n<p>But turn toward N\u1eadm Tha, and the character of the journey changes completely.<\/p>\n<p>This is <strong>serious off-road territory<\/strong> \u2014 steep climbs, deep ruts, slippery surfaces and remote mountain terrain. It is not a route for inexperienced riders or weak bikes. The distance from Hanoi to T\u00fa L\u1ec7 is approximately <strong>240 km<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00fa L\u1ec7 now has a good selection of hotels, guesthouses and homestays at reasonable prices. You can ride directly from Hanoi, which usually takes around <strong>5\u20136 hours<\/strong>, or transport your motorcycle by sleeper bus services operating between Hanoi and M\u00f9 Cang Ch\u1ea3i, Than Uy\u00ean and Lai Ch\u00e2u.<\/p>\n<p>From T\u00fa L\u1ec7, continue toward <strong>N\u1eadm C\u00f3<\/strong>. There are several local roads leading from N\u1eadm C\u00f3 toward Ph\u00ecnh Ng\u00e0i and L\u00f9ng C\u00fang, so it is advisable to ask local people for the correct route.<\/p>\n<p>From N\u1eadm C\u00f3 to Ph\u00ecnh Ng\u00e0i, the route becomes a dirt road for roughly <strong>15 km<\/strong>, with several steep sections and deep ruts.<\/p>\n<p>A suitable motorcycle can handle the route in dry conditions, but <strong>low-clearance scooters are not recommended<\/strong> because some sections require riding through deep ruts.<\/p>\n<p>In dry weather, the 15\u201320 km section toward Ph\u00ecnh Ng\u00e0i and L\u00f9ng C\u00fang can take around <strong>1\u20131.5 hours<\/strong>.
